As part of 2014’s year-long “AIGA 100” centennial celebration, AIGA SB is continuing to foster opportunities for designers at all career levels to learn from and inspire one another, to keep advancing design as a professional craft, strategic tool and vital cultural force.

• Find your audience and refine your range of work: Oliver has collaborated with Fortune 100 firms such as Diageo, General Mills, and PepsiCo, and has also focused on startups and mid-size firms in the natural foods industry, such as Kashi and Back To Nature.
• Go beyond good design and tap into the emotional connection consumers have with brands: Oliver’s award-winning work pioneered the use of emotion-generating visual cues in packaging design, and has continued to be recognized nationally and internationally by major design organizations and industry publications.
• Balance work with contributing to your community: in addition to his thirty-year-plus design career, Oliver has contributed to the Santa Barbara community by working with more than 20 local non-profits. He is co-founder of the Santa Barbara Film Festival, President of the Santa Ynez Valley Alliance and a member of the Board of Trustees of Brooks Institute.
