Join us for the first in our "-TION" Talk Series, where we're presenting experts on some of the "-tion"s of the modern design world – innovation, data visualization, and collaboration. AIGA CC Vice President Amaya Weddle will be giving a talk on the intersection of Innovation and leadership. We're so excited to present this series to you and hope to see you there!
Innovation and Leadership: 5 Habits to Help You Level Up
Companies that are seen as innovative can command an “innovation premium” in the market, which is linked to investor expectations for continued growth of the company over time. Investors are more willing to put their dollars behind these companies not because of existing returns, but because they believe in that company’s ability to continue to generate amazing things with the shifting markets. UX and design professionals inherently know that innovation comes from a practice and creating the right kind of environment for ideas to evolve.
Being “innovative" isn’t an innate talent, it’s about practicing a set of day-to-day behaviors in how you approach problem-solving at work. Moreover, developing a reputation for solving bigger company problems, and recruiting others’ mindshare in the process, presents a pathway to leadership inside companies.
In this talk, Amaya will share best practices for how you can be more innovative, along with case studies about her journey as an innovation leader working in tech.
