EVENT UPDATE 7/14: TypeWalk is now free and open to the public, we will not be convening at Dupuis afterward, and the time period for sending in your type photos has been extended to August 5th. If we get enough good material to assemble a poster, that will be for sale at a later date. If you've already paid for a ticket, you will be refunded. 

The goal of TYPEWALK is to seek and capture photos of the very best 26 letters of the alphabet in any medium of street type. The starting point will be the AIGA Santa Barbara Artwalk Pod -- featuring the work of Norman Clayton of Classic Letterpress -- at 5pm at Oak between Main St and Santa Clara.

Working in teams, you'll set off on a quest to find the most interesting specimens of the alphabet in the downtown Ventura area. Participants may send their photos in for up to two weeks past the weekend (end date is Aug. 5). The photos must come from the area that ArtWalk Ventura encompasses and that are shown on the map/card hand out which we will be handing out from the pod (you may also download it as a PDF).

The best letters will be included in a Typewalk commemorative poster, for sale at a later date. Posters will be free to those AIGA members that participated. Non-members that participated can buy one for $15. Members that did not participate in the event but would like to purchase a poster may do so for $10. We'll then reconvene at DuPuis Group, 394 E. Main St., Suite C, Ventura, between 8:00-9:00 pm to view a slideshow from the evening and grab a night cap!
