Typeface: Film Screening with Q&A

Typeface (the film) explores the twilight of an analog craft that is freshly inspiring artists in a digital age. The Hamilton Wood Museum in rural Two Rivers, Wisconsin personifies cultural preservation, rural re-birth, and the lineage of American graphic design. One weekend each month, carloads of artisans driving in from across the Midwest descend on this sleepy enclave to participate in printmaking workshops led and filled with some of the nation's top design talent. But the museum's future is unclear. What is the responsibility of artists and historians to preserve a dying craft?

Join AIGA Santa Barbara to view this film, followed by a panel discussion on the very popular re birth of this old world craft with Tom Hinkle (V3), John Balkwill (Lumino Press) and Norm Clayton (Classic Letterpress).
