UCSB Arts & Lectures presents:
Françoise Mouly is one of the most influential editors in comics and illustration of the last 40 years. As art editor at The New Yorker, she has transformed the magazine’s cover space into a mirror that reflects the cultural and political conversation. As co-founder of Raw with husband Art Spiegelman, she has helped elevate comics from pulp and pop to literature and high art.
Illustrator Anita Kunz’s highly figurative, conceptual and detailed imagery can be found on provocative covers of magazines like Rolling Stone, Time and The New Yorker. She was named one of the 50 most influential women in Canada by The National Post.
