PechaKucha Night (PKN) is an evening event for community members to meet, network, and share their work with the public. (The name derives from the Japanese term for the sound of “chit chat”).
It’s a simple format that makes presentations concise, where each presenter shows 20 images, each for 20 seconds. The slides forward automatically and you talk along to the images, which keeps things moving at a consistent pace.
PKN was devised in Tokyo in 2003 by two architects who wanted to have a fun, informal gathering of creative people where ideas, thoughts, projects. etc. where shared in a way that didn’t let anyone ramble on forever. It has turned into a massive celebration, with events happening in hundreds of cities around the world, inspiring creatives worldwide.
