Double or Nothing: Increase Women’s Leadership in Design!

The gender pay gap in the US is 20% on average, with women earning 80% of what men earn. Despite being a primarily female profession, female design leadership ranges from only 4 to 11%. Based on the current rate of leadership progression, it will be 2085 before we reach parity of women and men in equal positions of leadership. This isn’t a pipeline problem — it’s a promotion, pay and retention problem.

But enough talking about gender inequity—let’s do something about it. Today we’re partnering with AIGA to launch Double or Nothing: a movement to double the number of women leaders in design. With our coalition comprised of Blue State Digital, Decker Design, IBM, Lippincott, Pentagram and Quartz, we are committed to helping our community, holding corporations accountable, and achieving gender equity once and for all.
